EventFluence

EventFluence’s mission is to advance, refine and elevate the craft and culture of events.
Formerly Council of Protocol Executives, EventFluence is the event industry's most prestigious and exciting professional non-profit organization.
I have been a dedicated member for the past several years, beginning with my tenure as Director of Special Events for the New-York Historical Society and continuing through founding Events That Matter. EventFluence partners with their members throughout the year to host events, with the goals of strengthening and growing their membership.
I reached out to EventFluence to propose an event to expand membership.
I knew it would be a great opportunity to gain new members as well as expose existing members to the event opportunities at the New-York Historical Society (N-YHS).
N-YHS was planning to host a Harry Potter exhibition in late 2018/early 2019, so I partnered with my preferred vendors Constellation Culinary Group, Zak Events, and Party Rental LTD to design a menu, tablescape, and decor scheme that would bring the Harry Potter theme to life in an elegant and seasonal way.
I created an event flow that introduced guests to every part of the museum, giving them ample opportunity to explore the galleries, delight in the themed food and entertainment, and network with fellow event professionals.
The successes of this event were far-reaching both for the New-York Historical Society and for EventFluence. We had a record turnout of members and potential new members for the event.
Since all attendees were professionals in the events industry, it expanded the profile of the museum for events and resulted in an increase in event inquiries and booked business during the Harry Potter exhibition and beyond! It also allowed me to strengthen my relationship with talented vendors.
As every planner knows, you are only as strong as the team of people you surround yourself with!
